“Studying the River” is a solid paper set up that originated with Haitian-American artist Rejin Leys’ residency at Works on Water (a company that helps various creative investigations of water within the city atmosphere). “Studying the River” will likely be on view from April 12 to Might 19, 2023, on the Queens Public Library (89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica, New York; F prepare to 169th Road). Two free workshops are a part of the undertaking. The opening reception of the exhibition is on April 12 at 6:00pm.
Description: “Studying the River” is a sculpture that explores our relationship with NYC’s waterways by incorporating shredded copies of poems written between the nineteenth century and right this moment. Assembled out of solid paper pulp and picked up supplies, the sculpture will likely be put in within the Central constructing of the Queens Public Library in Jamaica, Queens.
