Bacchanal explores the historical past of carnivals. How did a harvest celebration for slaves change into the world’s most iconic road social gathering?
The exhibition seems on the historic roots of Caribbean Carnivals, which had been developed by enslaved folks introducing drums as a hyperlink to their African heritage.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is a drum created by artist Ashanti Harris as a part of a latest efficiency occasion, Dancing a Peripheral Quadrille.
