Haiti Cultural Change (HCX) presents Robenson Mathurin in efficiency and dialogue in “Koulè M Idantite M (My Pores and skin, My Id)” on November 20, 2022, from 5:30 to 7:30pm, at Gibney 280 Broadway (53a Chambers Avenue, New York).
“Koulè M Idantite M” (My Pores and skin, My Id)” is a mirrored image on the complexity of black id in numerous societies and, particularly, as a part of the immigrant expertise. “Koulè M Idantite M” invitations black immigrant Crown Heights neighborhood members to have interaction in dance and choreography workshops that helped categorical their internal ideas and helped to prime dialogue of the query: what does it imply to reside, survive, and thrive in your individual black pores and skin? The results of these workshops helped to create new choreography and efficiency.
The efficiency of this work will function invited dance artists, mission members sharing their testimonies and tales, reside Haitian drumming, recorded music, and probably video projection. The general public displaying may even be adopted by a public Q&A.
