The Caribbean Cultural Heart African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) will host a studying workshop “A Black Cuban Girl’s ‘Room of Her Personal’” on June 28, 2022, at 1:00pm (EST). 

Description: Be part of Aldeide Delgado, curator of The Abyss of the Ocean, with the performer and researcher Yesenia Selier, alongside visible artists Gertrudis Rivalta and Marta María Pérez Bravo for a studying workshop concerning the publication Afrocubanas: Historical past, Thought, and Cultural Practices edited by historian Daisy Rubiera Castillo and playwright and theater critic Inés María Martiatu Terry.

This guide interrogates the experiences of Black ladies within the historic panorama of the Cuban nation. These essays share a collective curiosity in dismantling the detrimental stereotypes about Black ladies whereas reflecting a legacy of thought and resistance.
