An often-recognized profession
Euzhan Palcy was the primary feminine director and the primary black artist to obtain a César, in 1984, for her first movie, “Rue Instances-Nègres”. This characteristic movie has almost 20 awards to its credit score.
Then in 1989, the filmmaker signed “A Dry White Season” in the US. This new movie dedicated to Apartheid, produced by a serious Hollywood firm and by which actor Marlon Brando participated, was nominated for an Oscar in 1990.
New honors
On June 13, 2022, Euzhan Palcy obtained the medal of honor from the SACD [Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques (Society of Dramatic Authors and Composers)] to “salute the expertise and the the creator’s corpus of labor.”
On November 19, 2022, an honorary Oscar shall be awarded to the Martinican director in Hollywood [California, USA].
