Description: Jacques Schwarz-Bart, an affiliate professor in Berklee’s Ensemble Division, has been on the middle of a number of musical revolutions: neo-soul (performing with D’Angelo and Erykah Badu) and new jazz (as a founding member of Roy Hargrove’s RH Issue). In November 2021, Schwarz-Bart recorded the Harlem Suite, sponsored by Stay Arts Boston. The recording is a beautiful set of compositions reflecting his journey as a jazz participant from the small Caribbean island of Guadeloupe to the best peaks of New York Metropolis’s legendary music scene.
